Modeling is not just for runways any more!

When I was first writing “Don’t Let an Old Person Move Into Your Body,” I began seeing a lot of stories, in the media, about people who were living vibrant lives, regardless of their age.

This is not surprising. Since we see more of what we focus on, and I was working on a book about “ageless living,’ wanting to provide people with ideas about how to make the rest of their life the best of their life, I was intently focused on the subject of aging. This was compounded by the fact, for a number of reasons, that I wrote the book over a long time period.

At any given time, in almost every community, you will find people who are living full, productive, active lives, well into their twilight years.

You can use these people as references of what’s possible and, in many cases, learn and copy their practices.

This idea, known as “modeling” is a simple, powerful way to increase performance in any area of life and a strategy that can be used by anyone at any age.

Simply find someone who is a achieving the kind of results you’d like in a given area and learn what they do and how they do it.

If you were doing this in golf, for example, one of the things you would model is the person’s physiology – how they’re using their body. You would also elicit their thought processes as best you can.

In business one important area you want to model from a successful person are their beliefs. This, by the way, is one reason you want to read and watch biographies of successful people you want to emulate. Doing this will give you new ways of looking at the world and help you develop new, more empowering beliefs.

If you’re in business or sales, modeling the beliefs and strategies of top people will give you new ideas and new ways of doing what you do.

I guarantee that the salesperson in your company who earns ten times the average does not work ten times harder. They are operating from a different set of beliefs and guiding principles, using different strategies than the rest, and taking different actions.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to invite the top earner in your business or industry to lunch or dinner and ask them for help. Most of the successful people I know are only too happy to share ideas with you. Not only does it help you, it deepens their understanding and gives them new insights.

When I coach or consult with a someone, many times I get new ideas I can uses in my business as a result of helping them grow theirs.

By making modeling part of your personal development strategy you will achieve greater results faster than ever before.

If you’re ready to totally take charge of your life and start creating the life you were born to live, check out this special offer.
