Start your day feeling great with this simple exercise

How to make yourself feel better even before you get out of bed

The quote above, one of the daily messages on the Abraham-Hicks web site recently, explains why certain practices work.

Upon arising, our emotional set-point is neutral. By introducing a series of positive affirmations and images, we can start our day with our vibrational set-point higher, thus start out feeling better than we typically would.

For example, the practice of affirming, “I feel great” several times over and over, first thing in the morning, a technique learned many years ago from Brian Tracy, is one I have been using myself and sharing with people at my live events for years.

Before you even get out of bed, affirm several times each (aloud if possible) “I feel great. I feel terrific. I feel fantastic.” 

Really feel it as you’re affirming it. Then lie quietly and feel your energy increase to follow the instructions you just gave to your body.

Do this for a few days and see for yourself that it makes a difference in your day. It does for me and has for the many others who’ve tried it.

Action step

Develop a series of “Morning questions” designed to help you begin your day on a happy note.

Ask questions like:

  • What am I grateful for today?
  • What am I looking forward to today?
  • What am I happy about?
  • Who do I love?

Starting your day by putting yourself in an upbeat, positive state of mind will increase the likelihood of your being able to maintain the good feelings throughout your daily experience.

Make a habit of looking for things to feel good about. Doing so will keep you attracting more of the same into your life, namely things to feel good about. Remember the Harvard study that concluded that :
