How’s your summer going?

How’s your summer going so far?

I don’t know about you but, for me, summer is one of my favorite seasons. Unlike my wife, Georgia, I enjoy the warm weather and absolutely love the beach.

I like that things slow down a bit. This gives me a chance to plan and strategize.

So far this year, we had a wonderful time at the wedding of a young woman we’ve known for years. She lives in Syracuse and had her reception at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, NY and, in addition to it being a great location, the Friends of the Animals received a portion of the revenue. A win-win all around.

During the cocktail hour, we were able to see some of the animals through the glass. I even had the chance to capture video of  a male peacock trying his best to attract a female. As you can see in this short, 20 second, video, she was having none of it.

We’re also planning a beach vacation, probably in August and, most likely a trip later in the season.

In the meantime I’m working on several projects and making new plans for the year ahead. You’ll be hearing about a new blog I’m launching, “Practical Healthy Living,” for everyday people who just want to become healthier without totally giving up the foods we all enjoy.

I’m working on developing a new seminar offering and am soliciting companies to speak at their events and trainings. If you happen to know of any opportunities for this, I’d be happy to know about it. And, if you can provide me with a lead that becomes a gig, there’s a finder’s fee in it for you.

I’ll be doing more video especially since I now have my lighting package and backdrops.

And, of course, I’m finishing up two new books, one, Notes in the Sand, is the story about a man who wants to turn his life around and meets an old sage at the beach. I’ve always thought of this as “my beach book.”

The other is a take off on 52 Ways to a Happier Life, written to help people be happier and more productive at work.

Studies have proven that people who are happier are more productive and less likely to leave than those who are just “showing up.” I believe learning to be happier is something that we can be taught.

Summer is a great time to invest some time on your personal development. While you’re out enjoying the warmer weather and relaxed business climate, why not spend a little time listening to a personal growth audio program or read a new book?

Whether you buy one of my audio programs or books, or someone else’s, investing in your continued growth is one of the best things you can do, summertime or otherwise.

For me, sitting on the beach is the perfect time to learn and brainstorm and I can’t imagine a better backdrop to do it than the ocean.

Be sure to take time to relax and enjoy this season and remember to make your life magical.
